In this study of the Desert Pea specie, I wanted to show the detailed growth of its 3 stages from small emerging bulbs, to enticing hanging chili’s, to blooming peas! I love the blanketing leaf on the connecting nodes on the ground roots. It hides the directional change of the root and whether it will grow a stem of leaves or not!
They can be interpreted as symbols of remembrance from colonisation and other conflicts, resilience as they can bloom in the harsh heat, and just be appreciated for their vibrancy. As resilient and strong as they are, when you remove the plant from its source, it will wilt and die very quickly.
