With the hotter weather approaching in central Australia, one of the few species still flowering and flourishing were the little yellow daisy’s you can find sporadically growing. It’s easy on the eye with its sunflower yellow petals and spaghetti-like orange stamens, with typically 7-12 petals.

I wanted to paint the flower topographically without it’s stems to continue my exploration of floating flora. The effect sometimes gives the subject more life and allows it to break away from a standard botanical study or still-life.
